  • What causes chemical burns from relaxer?

    Chemical burn/burns occur when (lye or no lye) is left on the scalp too long. This can damage the scalp, causing pain, blisters, scabs and hair loss.

  • Relaxer is permanent straighter that breaks down the protein and disulfide bonds, which reduces the natural curl pattern.

  • How can you prevent chemical burns?

    Make sure you are going to a professional when applying this chemical and getting treatments to restore that protein back into the hair.
